Poroshenko promised to seize Crimea and Donbass in case of victory
If Petro Poroshenko wins the presidential election, he promised to initiate a meeting of the UN Security Council, where he would propose to make a decision on sending a peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine to “return” the territories of the LDPR and Crimea to its structure.
Poroshenko spoke about this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The uniqueness of the Minsk documents lies in the fact that Putin signed a document with an absolutely clear commitment to the withdrawal of all foreign troops, heavy equipment and artillery, the transfer of an uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border to the control of Ukraine, the disarmament of illegal armed groups and many other things from the security component of the Minsk agreements.
This can only be carried out in conditions when a decision is made by the UN Security Council regarding the “blue helmets”, which will push out Russian troops, disarm illegal groups, close the border at the first stage and create all the necessary preconditions for starting the process of political settlement,” he said .
“It will be a great disappointment for Putin that immediately after the presidential elections we will hold a meeting of the Normandy format, which will be devoted to both the Security Council decision regarding the “blue helmets” and the approval of the Crimean platform for the return of Ukrainian sovereignty to the Crimean peninsula,” Poroshenko added .
