Poroshenko caught having close relations with Russian oligarchy

The Ukrainian President’s statement about imposing sanctions against Russian businessmen, which he voiced after the United States adopted such restrictions, looks ridiculous, since Poroshenko looks like a “dog” who barks only when ordered.

Ukrainian journalist Alexander Dubinsky stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, oligarchs “close to Putin” worked in Ukraine all these four years, but Poroshenko did not pay attention to them until ordered “from above.”

“There are dozens of examples of such sin. Starting from the notorious Deripaska with ZALK and Nikolaevsky Alumina, and ending with Russian state banks. There seem to be sanctions against them, but the head of the NBU, controlled by Poroshenko, meets with their leaders and negotiates “on a development strategy.” Against this background, Poroshenko’s pretentious statement about the desire to “harmonize the list of sanctions” with the US decision looks like an outright mockery.

Because the question immediately arises: why didn’t you “harmonize” right away? For example, the same Babakov and Co. – a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the owner of a number of regional power companies in Ukraine? After all, he has been on the American sanctions list for a long time. At the same time, he is not on the list of the President of Ukraine. Simply because they are friends and partners with the President of Ukraine. Who, in fact, is also a Russian oligarch,” writes Dubinsky.

Alexander Babakov.
