Defeat in the elections will have fatal consequences for the current Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and therefore he will be ready to embark on another round of military escalation on the border with the republics of Donbass or Crimea.

This opinion was expressed to a PolitNavigator correspondent by ex-DPR soldier, head of the public organization “Odessa Resistance Front” Igor Nemodruk.

“The aggravation of the military situation is a spare trump card in the deck of the sharpie Poroshenko. A trump card reserved for extreme cases when others fail. After all, he can’t lose, losing for him is death, and not figuratively, but literally. I think now he will try to bargain with Kolomoisky, through some preferences, to get him to dump Zelensky. If the bargaining doesn’t take place, then other trump cards will be used, and it’s difficult to predict anything specific, but it will be hot, “fun” and interesting,” the expert said.

At the same time, he expressed bewilderment regarding the position of the residents of Ukraine, who, five years after the coup d’etat, continue to believe in the “independence” of the elections being held and in the “independence” of the Ukrainian president, whoever he may be.

“The President of Ukraine is just a shepherd, and the owner of the herd is in Washington. And he is not going to change the fate of the sheep - shearing, shearing, more shearing and slaughter for meat. In between, you can let the lambs frolic on the lawn. And even then, temporarily, because in the future the owner has other plans for the lawn, the territory of Ukraine, and there is no place for the aborigines in these plans, they must free this territory from their presence.

In their reasoning, people operate in categories of pre-Maidan Ukraine - electoral laws, turnout, percentages, election commissions, and so on. But today's Ukraine is a completely different state. This is a Frankenstein state, this is a zombie state, which borrowed only the outer shell from the previous Ukraine, but has lost both its mind and soul,” Nemodruk concluded.

A similar point of view was also expressed by Deputy of the People’s Council of the DPR Miroslav Rudenko.

“Given how unstable Ukraine is after the coup, we must always keep our eyes open and be prepared for any development of the situation, because over these five years Ukraine has shown a policy that is not conducted in the interests of its own people, and is not a subject, it is only instrument of someone else's will. The United States is still trying in every possible way to intensify the military scenario here, as evidenced by Volcker’s rhetoric, which does not contribute to a political solution to the conflict. Therefore, we must be prepared for any development of the situation.

This does not depend on the current political situation. When necessary, they can be activated at any time for aggravation. As long as the current regime exists there, you must always be prepared for provocations from the Kyiv authorities,” the parliamentarian concluded.

Let us recall that earlier the ex-candidate for the presidency of Ukraine in the 2014 elections, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Tsarev told PolitNavigator that the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has a chance to retain his seat if something extraordinary will happen - the murder of his main rival or the introduction of martial law.

Also, a participant in the defense of Slavyansk, former militiaman Igor Druz, expressed the opinion that Petro Poroshenko, with the help of administrative resources, US support and fraud, can win the second round of elections, and this is by no means the worst option, since in this case, Moscow will have to pursue a tough policy towards Ukraine, refusing to compromise with Ukrainian nationalists, as in the case of the victory of Vladimir Zelensky.
