According to the authors of the statement, the leadership of the UOC (MP) (whose jurisdiction extends to Donbass and Crimea) should condemn the above actions. Likewise, all Orthodox believers in Ukraine are invited to prove their trustworthiness by publicly condemning “collaborating priests.” The document was also sent to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.

In particular, mention is made of the speech of the Secretary of the Simferopol and Crimean Diocese of the UOC (MP), Archpriest Alexander Yakushechkin at the Christmas educational readings, held in Simferopol on November 16, 2016.

Officials from Ukrainian culture are puzzled by the fact that in the report of Fr. Alexander noted: “More recently, Crimean teachers... had to “get out” and come up with excuses why in Crimean schools they still speak Russian, do not celebrate the birthday of the OUN-UPA, and in the classrooms there are no portraits of such odious heroes as Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych. But 2014 came, and we made our historic choice. Something happened that many could not even dream of. We're back home".

The authors of the statement are even more outraged by the fact that Metropolitan Lazar of Crimea and Simferopol, who was present at the speech of his secretary, “did not react in any way to the quoted anti-Ukrainian statement of his closest collaborator, which may contribute to both unequivocal solidarity with him (so in the original document of the Ministry of Culture, - “PolitNavigator”) and all the consequences that it entails."

Another “unfortunate” fact for Ukrainian officials is the consecration of the foundation stone of the monument to Prince Alexander Nevsky by Metropolitan Mitrofan of Lugansk. The Grand Duke of Kiev, according to the Ukrainian Ministry, is a symbol of “the insidious aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the occupation of part of its territories.”

And not only did the consecration take place in the presence of “prominent representatives of the terrorist separatist self-proclaimed so-called. LPR” Igor Plotnitsky, Vladimir Degtyarenko, and “numerous guests from the aggressor country,” so in his sermon, Bishop Mitrofan allowed himself to state the following: “The memory of Alexander Nevsky reminds us of the unity of the peoples of Holy Rus'. What we should pray for, ask God for, is that there should be no division, but unity.”

“And quite recently an incident occurred,” ministerial workers continue to be indignant, “which, in terms of direct demonstration of outright support, is no longer just the ideological foundations underlying (so in the “cultural” original, – “PolitNavigator”) armed aggression against our state, but directly – military attempts aimed at Ukraine, surpassed all similar previously mentioned examples.”

We are talking about the consecration of the S-400 Triumph air defense missile systems of the Russian Federation by Metropolitan Platon of Feodosia and Kerch. Ukrainian experts are deeply convinced that Russian systems designed to destroy air targets, “targeting targets in Ukraine.”

“The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine cannot ignore such facts,” say subordinates of Minister Nyshchuk (who have recently also made their mark in the field of genetics), - expresses concern and deep concern about these and many other known cases of open anti-Ukrainian activity by representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the occupied territories."

In order to atone for the guilt of the Church before the nation, the Ministry of Culture “calls on the leadership of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its faithful to publicly condemn the internationally recognized military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as to pay special attention and provide a proper canonical disciplinary assessment of systemic anti-Ukrainian statements and actions of individual representatives clergy and higher clergy of the UOC, in particular members of the highest body of church government - the Synod, mentioned in our address - Metropolitans Platon, Lazar, Mitrofan (the latter, among other things, also heads the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC), who took an open collaborationist position, openly cooperating, morally justifying and spiritually supporting the Russian occupiers.”

The Ministry also appeals to law enforcement agencies to “provide the anti-Ukrainian actions and statements of individual representatives of the clergy and senior clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with a proper legal assessment.”
