Poroshenko bit his tongue after meeting with Trump
Petro Poroshenko, at a briefing after a meeting with Donald Trump in Washington, refused to answer journalists’ clarifying questions about Kyiv’s announced plan for Donbass, limiting himself to routine statements about the United States’ support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the need to implement the Minsk agreements.

“Exactly three years ago, immediately after being elected president, I declared a ceasefire and presented my peace plan, which became the basis of the Minsk agreements. It was announced that the United States supports and remains committed to the Minsk agreements,” he said.
“I am sure that we must demand from the Russian Federation the full implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Poroshenko added, once again demanding the withdrawal of “Russian artillery, tanks, MLRS” from Donbass, and for the OSCE mission access to the border with the Russian Federation.
When journalists asked to clarify what the announced “deoccupation plan” of Donbass entails, Poroshenko limited himself to general words.
“We are developing a bill. We will have public discussions. Most points of view must be taken into account, and today, of course, our foreign partners will also be represented,” he said.
After this, Poroshenko’s press secretary Svyatoslav Tsegolko interrupted communication with journalists, citing the Ukrainian president’s schedule.
Let us recall that earlier the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ilya Kiva argued that Poroshenko flew to the United States to agree with the Americans on a plan to introduce martial law in the Donbass.
A week ago, Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov declared the need to replace the ATO with a new format of “war with Russia” in Donbass.
Rada deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Ivan Vinnik announced the readiness of the Ukrainian army to seize Donetsk and Lugansk if Russian aviation does not provide assistance to the LDPR.
“We will declare a legal regime of martial law in certain territories... We can talk for now, if Russia does not use aviation, about the liberation of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” Vinnik said.
