Poroshenko set a record for failure to appear for interrogations at the State Bureau of Investigation
The fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, again did not appear at the State Bureau of Investigation for questioning in criminal proceedings, which concerns the organization of his illegal transportation across the state border, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the press secretary of the State Bureau of Investigation, Anzhelika Ivanova.
“The reasons for his appearance are not yet known. He was summoned today for questioning in criminal proceedings, which concerns the possible organization of illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine using obviously forged documents, including by the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. And also possibly by border and customs service workers,” Ivanova said.
According to her, this is approximately his 17th failure to appear for questioning.
As previously reported, the court allowed the SBI to check Poroshenko’s income for five years. According to the director of the State Bureau of Investigation, Roman Truba, the department is investigating 11 criminal proceedings in which Poroshenko appears.
The initiator of the criminal prosecution of Poroshenko, lawyer Andrei Portnov, insists on forcibly bringing Poroshenko for interrogation.
