The political norms laid down in the law on the so-called “reintegration of Donbass” allow the President of Ukraine to appoint the person he needs to the post of commander of the combined forces.

Viktor Nebozhenko, director of the Ukrainian Barometer sociological service, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The position of commander of the joint forces appeared there. Represented by the Chief of the General Staff, approved by the Commander-in-Chief. But in fact, we are talking about finding a person who, on the one hand, on the parade ground called for the shedding of blood, to defend the Motherland, on the other, gave orders for the arrest and execution of those who interfere with smuggling and trade.
Roughly speaking, Poroshenko needs to find a huckster general. This is very original, this has never happened before in the world. Stalin, at least, had no questions about whether Zhukov could fight the Nazi invaders and trade with them at the same time, and for Poroshenko this is very important,” Nebozhenko said.
