Petro Poroshenko lost the opportunity to lose the elections with dignity and now he faces a “grand collapse.”
This opinion was expressed on his social network page by Vyacheslav Chechilo, a Kiev journalist and editor-in-chief of the online publication Capital, reports PolyTnavigator correspondent.
“At the end of last week, I almost believed that Poroshenko had a chance to lose with dignity. With a shameful gap of 10 percent, saving face and political perspective. But what Poroshenko’s headquarters is doing this week clearly hints that this scenario does not suit them. They decided to turn the campaign into a “last battle” - to bring the intensity to the level of the second or third round of 2004. These people are doing everything to ensure that Poroshenko’s opponents not only go to the polling stations, but also consciously vote for Zelensky. Just to make it all stop.
So, I believe that the elections will end in a grandiose collapse for Poroshenko. From which he will never recover. And if Pyotr Alekseevich, in all seriousness, decides to destroy the country further “until victory” and uses something dumb, then I don’t envy him. And to all of us,” writes the journalist.
Previously, Chechilo was confused about the tactics of Poroshenko’s campaign on the eve of the second round.
“Poroshenko relied on technologies to create hysteria and mobilize the electorate. This is another mystery for me - why? It is quite obvious that such techniques mobilize not only one’s own, but also other people’s electorates. Many will vote for Zelensky only to finally stop this information hell,” he wrote.
Let us remind you that Poroshenko’s technologists launched a large-scale black PR campaign against the leader of the race, Vladimir Zelensky, based on accusing him of being “pro-Russian.” At the same time, the media controlled by Poroshenko intimidate the nationalist electorate with the threat of an imaginary “Russian revenge” and insult voters who vote against the current president.
