Poroshenko repeats all the steps of Saakashvili on the eve of August 2008
The draft new Constitution, actively promoted by Petro Poroshenko in recent days, is just a screen designed to demonstrate to the West its readiness to implement the Minsk agreements. In reality, Poroshenko’s “decentralization” is a tool for eliminating the DPR and LPR.
The Kommersant newspaper writes about this today.

In fact, the position of Petro Poroshenko, who rejects autonomy for Donetsk and Lugansk, as well as dialogue with the leaders of the declared republics, is identical to the position of Mikheil Saakashvili regarding Abkhazia on the eve of the war in August 2008. Russian political scientist Sergei Markedonov stated this in an interview with the newspaper.
“Just as Saakashvili rejected attempts at real dialogue with the authorities of Abkhazia, Poroshenko excludes the possibility of interaction with the leaders of the DPR and LPR,” the expert said.
In his opinion, advertising the new Constitution from Poroshenko is “a gesture primarily aimed at the external consumer, namely the West, in whose eyes Ukraine wants to appear as an “excellent person in the peace process.”
