Petro Poroshenko complained that today there is a very small share of the Ukrainian language on Ukrainian television.

He said this during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in the world.
“I want to publicly say hello to the owners and top managers of some television channels. Gentlemen, your share of the Ukrainian language is unacceptably small. And before taking a legislative initiative, I suggest the market remember both conscience and self-regulation,” Poroshenko’s official website reports.
It is interesting that the number of owners of Ukrainian television channels includes Poroshenko himself, who, contrary to his election promises, never sold Channel 5, which belongs to him.
Poroshenko reminded the diaspora that last month he signed a law that provides for a sharp increase in the share of Ukrainian-language songs on radio stations, as well as the share in talk programs. This will happen due to the artificial displacement of the Russian language from the airwaves.
