Official Kyiv will only recognize elections in Donetsk and Lugansk that will be held according to Ukrainian laws and with the participation of all Ukrainian parties, among which are such extremist structures as “Right Sector” or “Svoboda”.
This statement was made by Petro Poroshenko in an interview with Ukrainian channels, commenting on the results of the Normandy Four negotiations in Paris.
“Ukrainian political forces will take full part in the elections in Donbass,” he said.

According to Petro Poroshenko, the elections in Donbass should be covered by the Ukrainian media, which until recently called supporters of the LDPR militants and terrorists.
“There can be no elections without full participation and coverage of events by the Ukrainian media. Because it is the right of Ukrainians in Donbass to know the truth,” he said.
“Without elections under Ukrainian law, without a political settlement, without the withdrawal of troops, without the return of Ukrainian media, without the return of the activities of Ukrainian parties, it is impossible to return Ukrainian sovereignty to Donbass,” Poroshenko emphasized, promising to “fight for every piece of Ukrainian land.” “The first is Donbass, then Crimea,” the Ukrainian president clarified.
