Poroshenko offers Donbass an amnesty, a “corridor” of withdrawal and early elections: “I don’t want war and I don’t thirst for revenge”
Kyiv, June 07 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) - The new President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he was offering a “peace plan” to Donbass.

During his inauguration speech, Poroshenko said that he was running for the presidency to “ensure lasting peace and guarantee security.”
“Peace is the main thing that the people crave. I don’t want war and I don’t crave revenge, although I can see the great sacrifices made by the people,” he said.
According to him, in his peace plan he proposes “to lay down arms in response to guaranteeing the release from criminal liability of those who do not have blood on their hands and who did not finance terrorism.”
In addition, he stated that a “controlled corridor for Russian mercenaries” would be created. He also promised “dialogue”:
“It is clear that not with the “shooters”, “Abwehrs”, “demons” or other evil spirits. We are talking about dialogue with peaceful citizens of Ukraine.”
In his opinion, in Donbass they have already felt the “charm of terrorist rule”; people have been brought “to the brink of complete disaster.”
“But we will not leave you in trouble…” Poroshenko said, emphasizing that “as president he will come in the very near future.” At the same time, he intends “not to divide Ukrainians into right and wrong.”
The new president announced a proposal to hold early local elections for Donbass.”
