Poroshenko is proposed to be considered illegitimate
President Petro Poroshenko was elected to his position virtually without elections - there was a war in the country, the campaign was accompanied by the use of violence and pressure on candidates.
Political scientist Vsevolod Stepanyuk stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Ukraine is not really a democratic country.
“We do not have pluralism in the political field. We saw previous elections where candidates were beaten and their offices were set on fire, but America said that this was democratic. Therefore, I can assert, as an eyewitness to the events, that Kuchma’s first elections were the only democratic elections, and then, one way or another, political technologies were increasingly used, and that is why each subsequent election increasingly alienated the one who was elected from the interests of the country...
Their (elections, - author.) actually did not exist, I have no doubt about that. Have you seen how violent elections were held during the war? This is not an election,” Stepaniuk said.
