Poroshenko turns into Ukrainian Turkmenbashi
Ukrainian experts warn that a ban on Russian TV series in Ukraine will cause a surge in underground interest in them.
Director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation Kost Bondarenko said this, in particular, in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This reminds me of how Turkmenbashi at one time banned theater and ballet as areas of the arts alien to the Turkmen people,” the Ukrainian expert draws an analogy. “The approach is the same in this situation.”
At the same time, he says that a significant number of simply pop films that do not represent artistic value are shot in Russia, a significant part of which is included in the Ukrainian Goskino prohibited list, but nevertheless he expresses confidence that the consumer himself must decide what to watch or read.
“I can predict that after this ban, the number of pirated copies of these series sold underground or downloaded through various sites will increase significantly,” believes Kost Bondarenko. – If they forbid it, then there is something there, and the forbidden fruit is sweet and that means you need to see it. I have never heard of most of the names on the list. But now the temptation arises in our free time to see what it is, why it is banned.”
