Poroshenko figured out how to get himself into the second round
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko introduced martial law in the eastern regions of Ukraine in order to prevent residents of these territories from expressing their opinions and ensuring their passage to the second round of the upcoming elections.
This opinion was expressed on the Rossiya 1 TV channel by ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Spiridon Kilinkarov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In relation to all these processes that occur with the introduction of martial law, rotations, redeployment of troops and so on, one single task is being solved - the passage of Pyotr Alekseevich into the second round. Nothing else is being decided here.
I could be wrong, but I think it’s not far from the truth that the issue of Pyotr Alekseevich’s passage into the second round will be decided by the votes of eastern Ukraine, and the issue of victory will be decided by the votes of western Ukraine. This is the strategy he defined for himself. He has defined a strategy for himself that is aimed at strengthening anti-Russian rhetoric and militarization. These are all elements of the election campaign, no more, no less,” the politician explained.
We would like to remind you that earlier PolitNavigator cited a statement by former deputy head of the presidential administration Andrei Portnov that Poroshenko does not have any plan to get out of the current situation, and Even possible military provocations that his entourage may undertake will not help him retain power.
