Poroshenko ordered to speed up the repair of St. Andrew's Church in order to quickly transfer it to Bartholomew
Advisor to the President of Ukraine, Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies Rostislav Pavlenko said that the reconstruction of St. Andrew's Church in Kyiv, where the representative office of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine will be located, will be accelerated, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said this at a briefing on Monday, the press service of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine reports.
According to him, the deadline for the planned completion of the reconstruction is 2020, but the dates are subject to change.
“I understand that if necessary, within reasonable limits, this will be accelerated. The main thing is that the corresponding law has been adopted in Ukraine on the transfer not of ownership, but of use of this church to the Ecumenical Patriarchate,” Pavlenko said.
Let us recall that on October 18, the Verkhovna Rada decided to transfer St. Andrew’s Church for free, permanent use to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for worship and rituals.
