Poroshenko ordered to protect the non-operating airport from the DRG for 10 years
In the Kyiv-controlled frontline city of Mariupol in the Donbass, the operation of a civilian airport will be resumed.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated this during the Regional Development Council of the Donetsk Region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today I instruct the Chief of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Infrastructure and the Chairman of the Regional State Administration to work on the issue of launching the Mariupol airport. Of course, we must ensure security, protect it from sabotage and reconnaissance groups, protect it from enemy anti-aircraft weapons, but I believe that today is a good time for this,” the president said.
Please note that since 2009 there have been no regular flights from Mariupol airport.
Meanwhile, the DPR reports that Ukrainian military armed forces concentrated fire in Donbass on civilian infrastructure facilities.
