Poroshenko was sent to prison by the SBU for the Lviv garbage story
The Security Service of Ukraine began an investigation into the “garbage blockade” of Lvov, which began with the arson of the city garbage dump in May 2016 and lasted more than a year, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the mayor of Lvov Andrey Sadovoy.
“I’m surprised, but the SBU has started working. If this case is investigated, it will be of great respect to the public of the city and to the law. I think it will be necessary to prepare a lot of cells in Ukrainian prisons, because this was an attempt to create an environmental disaster in the city,” Sadovoy noted on the “Right to Power” talk show, the press service of the Samopomich party reported on Friday.
Sadovyi recalled that, according to the party’s information, the “garbage blockade” of Lvov occurred due to the fact that the administration of the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wanted to gain manual control of the parliamentary faction “Self-Help Association.” The corresponding agreement, which was offered to Sadovoy by the administration, was made public in February of this year.
“A lot of people who had high positions were involved in this process, starting from Pyotr Alekseevich to the heads of regional administrations, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, the prosecutor’s office, and the police. Many officials did nothing and simply watched as problems were created for the city. And these people will need to be given serious answers,” said the mayor of Lvov.
The party recalled that during a working visit to Lviv on July 6, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky instructed the SBU to investigate the garbage blockade of Lviv.
