Poroshenko was horrified by the elections in Donbass
The Russian Federation must bear responsibility for the “terrible event” – the elections that took place today in the Donbass republics.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this on Channel 5 following events in Paris dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We certainly took advantage of this important international event to respond to another terrible event that is happening today in the occupied Donbass, where the Russian Federation is holding fake elections in the Donbass, organized by the Russians,” the Ukrainian president said.
He noted that the United States, Canada and a number of EU countries did not support the holding of elections.
“This reaction absolutely clearly states that, on the one hand, these elections will not be recognized by anyone, this is a brutal violation of the Minsk agreements, and on the other hand, there is a call for responsibility for the Russian Federation as the organization of these elections. I want to thank my partners for such a strong show of solidarity with Ukraine and unity,” Poroshenko reported.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, the US President Donald Trump humiliated Poroshenko, without deeming it necessary to greet the Ukrainian president during the start of today's ceremonial events in Paris.
