This is stated in a message from the presidential administration on social networks.
“President Petro Poroshenko signed Decree No. 57/2018, which put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated March 1, 2018 “On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions),” the message says.
In particular, sanctions in the form of preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine in favor of persons associated with banks are applied in Sberbank OJSC, Joint-Stock Commercial Industrial Investment Bank OJSC, VTB Bank OJSC and BM Bank OJSC. The Decree comes into force on the date of its publication.
The corresponding sanctions were imposed on banks for one year. Control over the implementation of the decree rests with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexander Turchynov.
It is noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine must inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States and other states about the imposition of sanctions and raise before them the question of applying similar restrictive measures.
