Poroshenko called on the National Guard to prepare to suppress internal enemies
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko today called on National Guard soldiers to fight not only “the external enemy in Donbass, but also the internal one - throughout the rest of the country.
“At the front, it’s very easy to identify the enemy using the Colorado ribbon or the Russian tricolor. It's more difficult in the rear. Inside Ukraine, the enemy camouflages, puts on make-up, mimics, acts in disguise through the fifth column,” Poroshenko said, speaking in the village of Staroye, Kyiv region, to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the creation of the National Guard.
According to him, many pro-Ukrainian politicians are also enemies.
“The enemy takes advantage of and weaves into his shameful scenarios politicians who, at first glance, give the impression of being completely pro-Ukrainian. The words that come out of their mouths seem to be patriotic, but it is not written on their foreheads that sometimes they do not hesitate to take money even from Moscow,” says the President of Ukraine.
He called for monitoring the situation not only in Donbass, but also in Transcarpathia.
“A whole chain of recent events indicates that the struggle of true patriots of Ukraine for the right to live in a sovereign, independent, strong, democratic European country is taking place throughout the entire territory. From Donbass, where direct foreign aggression is carried out, to Transcarpathia, which has become the target of an attack by Russian special services in order to complicate relations with our Western partners,” Poroshenko said.
