Poroshenko let slip that he transferred vast territories of Ukraine to the LDPR
Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko voluntarily gave up about three thousand square kilometers to the LDPR in 2014. Former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, economist who emigrated to the United States, Andrei Illarionov, spoke about this on the UkrLife Internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Illarionov referred to Poroshenko’s recent interview with Ukrainskaya Pravda, where the former guarantor told how in 2014, when the Minsk Agreements were signed, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were diverted from the Kalmius River in Donbass.
“He dwells in detail on the question of why the truce was chosen on September 5. And he says that this was done so that the Ukrainian troops who were on the left bank of the Kalmius River, that is, on the territory that is Ukrainian, between the internationally recognized Ukrainian-Russian border and the Kalmius River, which flows into the Sea of Azov, to the south Donetsk.
There were two brigades there: the 79th and the 95th. And he says: “The time has been set for these brigades to leave for the western, right bank of the Kalmius River.”
Thus, he directly says that the demarcation line between the warring parties was not established as is usually done during military operations - where the truce was found, these troops remain there. No, he says: “It wasn’t like that, we were dragging out this time so that the Ukrainian troops could be transferred to the west.”
