Poroshenko will sell the last secrets of the Soviet defense industry to Erdogan for next to nothing
It’s good when, even at such a sensitive enterprise as Ukroboronprom, you have kind, sympathetic friends. It was thanks to them that it became known that the general director of this enterprise, Roman Romanov, recently visited Turkey.
Upon returning, Romanov met with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. And he proposed to intensify military-technical cooperation with Turkey, citing the fact that Turkey plans to equip its army with new weapons and military equipment by 2023. This program is designed to strengthen the image of the country's President Recep Erdogan.
Romanov convinced Poroshenko that Ukraine needed to become a donor of military technologies for Turkey. Why did you convince? Because such cooperation will allow Kyiv to earn up to $300 million in the next three years.
Currently, the annual volume of military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey does not exceed $5 million.
Poroshenko agreed to Romanov’s proposals. The corresponding orders have already been sent to enterprises of the Ukrainian defense industry.
The following Ukrainian enterprises will take part in the “Turkish project”:
- SE "Plant named after. Malysheva" (Kharkov)
- State Enterprise “Basic Center for Critical Technologies “Microtek” (Kyiv)
- JSC "Motor Sich" (Zaporozhye)
- State Enterprise “Zaporozhye Machine-Building Design Bureau “Progress” named after. Academician Ivchenko" (Zaporozhye)
- State Enterprise “Research and Production Complex of Gas Turbine Construction “Zorya-Mashproekt” (Nikolaev)
- SE "Antonov" (Kyiv)
In essence, we are talking about selling military technologies to Turkey.
That is, everything that has been developed for many years, starting from the times of the USSR; what was the pride of the Soviet military-industrial complex will be transferred to Turkey for next to nothing.
Of course, this will not help Ukrainian enterprises. Poroshenko seized on Romanov’s idea as a way to earn easy money - you don’t need to invest in enterprises, just sell the technology and documentation.
It’s a shame, but in fact this will be the swan song of Ukrainian enterprises, which – and we always remember this – employ real people. Unfortunately, they will most likely be out of work in the near future. Because who will need orders from dead Ukrainian factories if they have received the most important thing - technology? And you can rivet some kind of armored personnel carrier in Turkey, if you have the drawings and documentation.
Thank you!
