The first to approach the attack were the soldiers of the Aidar battalion, located in the Lugansk region. Some of them had difficulty moving, others did not hear anything after being shell-shocked. Aydarovites traditionally complained about the lack of heavy weapons and also talked about high losses.
“Of the 15 people who were in the village of Khryaschevatoye, only four of us remained in the morning,” an Aidar fighter with the call sign “Padre” told reporters about the results of the battles near Lugansk. I'm still slightly wounded. And there ours had their legs and heads torn off. The guys are all shocked."
A little later, fighters from the Dnepr-1 battalion came up and, to the surprise of many journalists and action participants, proposed stopping the war and starting negotiations. In particular, such proposals were made by the commander of the 5th (“Afghan”) company of the battalion, Kamil Valetov.
“Donbass is a fragment of the Russian Empire,” other participants in the action, who, however, were not directly related to the participants in the fighting, were indignant. – It must be destroyed and liquidated. There should be no negotiations. Either they recognize themselves as Ukrainians, or everything will be destroyed.”
“We have a head of state, he is the head of state and, first of all, questions should be addressed to him,” another fighter of the Dnepr-1 battalion, Alexey Tsybko, shared his opinion about the culprits of the unsuccessful military campaign for Kiev. “His team now runs the country.”
He also agreed with the opinion that it is necessary to look for opportunities for compromise and sit down at the negotiating table. “We spent three months hacking and fighting, but maybe now it makes sense to stop and talk about something,” Tsybko noted.
In turn, one of the commanders of the OUN volunteer battalion told reporters that their soldiers were going to the combat zone without shooting practice.
According to the battalion members, they hoped to meet with the president, but they were told that he would not come to them.
