Poroshenko studied and was horrified by the programs of his rivals
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko used today's meeting of the Rada, dedicated to the “anniversary of Russian aggression,” as an element of his own election campaign, the main idea of which is joining the EU and NATO
“Many zradophiles run on television and say that Ukraine will never be accepted into the EU and it will not be a member of NATO. My friends, I declare: they will accept it, and it will be. No one, nothing will ever return us to the shackles of Moscow. Nowadays there is a popular phrase that the Rubicon point has been passed. It will never be passed. We must always fight for our civilizational choice. We must always be prepared so that Ukraine does not return to the status of a colony,” Poroshenko said (Rubicon is a river on the Apennine Peninsula, which Julius Caesar crossed before the capture of Rome).
Poroshenko admitted that he studied the programs of all 44 presidential candidates and did not find there a thesis on joining the EU and NATO.
“There is also a fifth column, which, under the dictation of the Kremlin, again brought into the light of God and included in its program the notorious non-alignment, which has already cost us Crimea and part of Donbass,” Poroshenko said.
He promised to “submit an application to join the EU and receive an action plan for joining NATO no later than 2025.”
In conclusion, Poroshenko made a show of it by signing a law right on the rostrum of parliament to introduce an article into the Ukrainian constitution about consolidating the course towards the EU and NATO.
