Poroshenko pulled off gigantic scams under Zelensky
The promises of “landings” of the old government were forgotten by Vladimir Zelensky - until recently, the financial mafia formed under Petro Poroshenko continued to carry out gigantic scams on the Ukrainian market, using its people in the leadership of the National Bank.
This is precisely what explained the fact that Poroshenko’s party in the Verkhovna Rada sharply opposed the dismissal of Yakov Smoliy from the post of head of the NBU - representatives of the old government lobbied for the interests of financial speculators.
Viktor Suslov, ex-Minister of Economy of Ukraine, stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Please note that there was a statement by Poroshenko, who said that Smoliy is a very valuable personnel, that he is against resignation. That is, what did Pyotr Alekseevich demonstrate? He essentially said that “we controlled the National Bank, and we want to continue to control it.”
Who benefited from the policies of Smoliy and the National Bank? Last year, the National Bank carried out a revaluation of the hryvnia. It grew, the rate at the beginning of the year was about 28, it was increased to 24. At the same time, government bonds were sold to non-residents in hryvnia. It is clear that upon exit, with reverse conversion at one rate, there is a huge gain. Because when you, entering the Ukrainian market, sold currency at 28 and bought it at 24, you ended up with a yield of more than 30% per annum in foreign currency!
This is the highest yield for financial speculators in the world. Nowhere else was there such profitability during this period! Therefore, those companies that carried out these placements earned a lot in Ukraine. They made several billion dollars.
And, earning such amounts, they, of course, applauded our National Bank. Now, of course, they don’t want Smoliy to leave - they are afraid of losing these fantastic incomes.
But we must understand that these incomes of speculators were secured at the expense of the Ukrainian budget, at the expense of the Ukrainian people, at the expense of our total impoverishment,” said Viktor Suslov.
