Poroshenko proclaimed Hitler's collaborator as a symbol of Ukraine
The real “symbol of Ukraine” is the leader of Ukrainian nationalists Stepan Bandera.
Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this on the air of the Direct TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The former head of state considered that the recent court decision to cancel the renaming of Moskovsky Avenue to Bandera Avenue in Kyiv is one of the clearest manifestations of “pro-Russian revenge.”
“The revenge was when they started renaming the avenues. For some, this is no big deal. Well, what difference does it make - there was Bandera Avenue, now its name has been returned to Moskovsky. Both Bandera and Moscow are symbols. Only Bandera is a Ukrainian symbol, and Moscow is a Russian symbol. No matter how anyone tries to discredit these ideas,” Poroshenko said.
