Poroshenko is trying to fool the United States: The Rada voted for the Anti-Corruption Court
The Verkhovna Rada today, with 315 votes, approved the law on the Anti-Corruption Court, the introduction of which the United States has long lobbied for control over the Ukrainian elite. The adoption of the law was one of the West’s conditions for continuing financial assistance to Ukraine.
Petro Poroshenko, who arrived in parliament, declared the voting results “overwhelming,” although earlier Maidan participants led by Mikheil Saakashvili accused the president of unwillingness to establish an Anti-Corruption Court.
It seems that the reason for Poroshenko’s ostentatious joy was an attempt to deceive the curators from the US Embassy.
The version of the bill presented in the Rada was criticized by Yulia Tymoshenko. According to her, the document was written in such a way that the Anti-Corruption Court will be Poroshenko’s next “pocket” body.
Western-controlled grant-eating activists point out that the law is written in such a way that, contrary to the requirements of the IMF, foreign experts will not have a veto in the appointment of members of the Anti-Corruption Court. Thus, Poroshenko will be able to form a court from among the loyal thieving “servants of Themis.”
Lyashkovite Igor Mosiychuk voiced similar accusations. “He created a Supreme Anti-Corruption Court controlled by his beloved... A cynical farce from cynical hucksters,” he said to Poroshenko.
“Approving the law is a third of the work. Now there will be a lot of manipulation and sabotage during its implementation,” predicts deputy Egor Sobolev.
Economist Andrei Blinov believes that the Anti-Corruption Court will turn into another repressive body that will be involved in the showdown between politicians in Ukraine. “Something suggests that those who lose the elections will respond to the severity of the law,” the expert noted.
