Political expert of the NGO “Word and Deed” Valentin Gladkikh stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“This is simply a matter of great symbolic importance. As for the ancient Russian princes, it was a matter of great importance who would be the first to crawl on their knees into the yurt of Batu Khan or his descendants. This may not have any consequences, but the press service will be able to tell that Trump met with the president. Therefore, one should not overestimate the consequences of this meeting, especially in the context of the Munich Conference, where it became clear that Ukraine is still moving in a Ukrainian-centric paradigm, which has long exhausted itself, and we all think that everything revolves around our issues,” the expert emphasized.
“Our Western partners have more and more reasons to doubt the adequacy of Ukrainian political leaders,” Gladkikh concluded.
