Poroshenko is trying to turn the Minsk agreements into a way to clean up Donbass
After Donbass comes under Kiev control, amnesty, special status and local elections can be forgotten.
Chairman of the Federation Council Temporary Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media Alexey Pushkov stated this on TVC, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko wants to first establish full control and then hold elections. What kind of elections if he establishes control there? He will clean up everyone there. Guys who have long dreamed of clearing the region will rush there. There will be no elections there, but they will explain to us that a “revolution of dignity” is taking place there, and Kyiv is taking control of Donbass,” Pushkov said.
“That is, if we turn this situation around from the end - with the establishment of Kyiv’s control over Donbass, then all other provisions of the Minsk agreements collapse. There will be no amnesty, elections, nothing. There will be direct subordination and leadership from Kyiv,” the senator added.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian “hawks” criticized Poroshenko's latest statement about abandoning the use of force in the Donbass.
