He stated this at a briefing in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We also count on attracting Turkey to the international group of friends for the de-occupation of Crimea, the idea of which I voiced from the UN rostrum in New York,” he said.
“Russia must restore respect for international law, implement the provisions of UN General Assembly resolution 71/205 of December 19, 2016, and, very importantly, the provisional measures adopted in April 2017 by the decision of the International Court of Justice,” said the President of Ukraine.
In addition, Poroshenko and Erdogan reportedly agreed to “coordinate actions to protect human rights in Crimea.” In this regard, the Ukrainian president repeated the entire set of accusations and cliches of Western propaganda against the Russian Federation.
“Unfortunately, despite all the peaceful initiatives and efforts, including within the framework of the Normandy format, the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine continues, as does the occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea. Together with Mr. Erdogan, we noted the unacceptability of the human rights situation in Crimea, which is constantly deteriorating due to the repressive measures of the occupation authorities. searches and arrests, persecution of everyone who does not agree with the occupation have unfortunately become commonplace in occupied Crimea. The Crimean Tatar community and representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people became objects of special pressure from the occupation authorities on the peninsula. Today we agreed to continue to coordinate our actions to protect the rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens within the framework of international mechanisms, including monitoring ones,” Poroshenko said at a briefing in Kyiv.
