Poroshenko hopes to use the OSCE to refuse to recognize elections in Donbass
Official Kyiv will use OSCE reports on the presence of “Russian terrorist troops” in Donbass as a pretext to refuse to recognize the results of local elections in the LDPR, which yesterday the republics agreed to postpone to February as a compromise.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin made this clear during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada.

“Without the demilitarization of Donbass, no elections are possible. The OSCE must go to the border. And this is where the real process should begin... How can elections be held there when Russian troops and Russian equipment are there? There are international criteria. Why are we trying to open access to the OSCE and the Office for Democracy and Human Rights? So that they can also see objectively what is happening in Donbass. No security conditions - no elections,” the official said.
“We have no trust in Russia. No one in the civilized world has confidence in Russia. Such trust will not arise in the future. And our chance, within the framework of the Normandy format, to use the sanctions pressure of our friends and partners to coerce Russia,” Klimkin continued his thought.
