Poroshenko expects to be re-elected for a second term with the help of Novinsky
The “opposition bloc” in future elections (possibly early parliamentary ones) will be headed by businessman Vadim Novinsky, Rinat Akhmetov’s closest partner and ally.
A source in the Verkhovna Rada told PolitNavigator about this.

Sociology published by several Ukrainian companies says that in the second round of the presidential election, Poroshenko is losing to Yulia Tymoshenko and even Andrei Sadovoy. But, if a “garbage board” was found on Sadovoy, Tymoshenko is still “at large.”
Petro Poroshenko’s strategy for the 2019 elections has already been voiced by a number of Ukrainian experts: the idea is simple - it’s preparing a convenient sparring partner, similar to how Viktor Yanukovych expected to meet Oleg Tyagnibok in the second round in order to campaign “for a Europe without fascism.”
Now they will make a “horror story” out of Novinsky for the nationalist electorate.
With the departure of Crimea and part of Donbass, the electoral picture in Ukraine changed in favor of the western regions. Despite the low rating, Poroshenko, having pushed Novinsky or Lyashko into the second round, expects to win the elections.
Lyashko is one of our own and manageable, and he is also a homosexual.
Novinsky is also a convenient opponent for Poroshenko. Firstly, the same oligarch, secondly, an obvious “Muscovite”, a former citizen of Russia, who once represented Sevastopol in the Rada, does not speak Ukrainian, a well-known defender of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Such an opponent in the second round is guaranteed to bring the votes of Tymoshenko, Lyashko, Tyagnibok and others to Poroshenko’s ballot box.
Considering that Rinat Akhmetov has established close partnerships with Poroshenko for more than two years, the situation resembles an obvious conspiracy.
(Novinsky has more charisma than the current head of OB, gas worker Yuri Boyko. However, the South-East may also have many questions about the new leader of the Opposition Bloc. Novinsky at one time pointedly refused to support the Russian Spring and vote for dispersal Euromaidan).
As PolitNavigator reported, Poroshenko has another plan.
This is an escalation of the conflict in Donbass, early elections in which the BPP unites with Yatsenyuk’s party and strengthens control over the Verkhovna Rada. Then you can cancel the popular presidential election - an obedient parliament will re-elect Poroshenko for a second term.
