Poroshenko shuffled before Tillerson for sabotaging Nord Stream 2
Petro Poroshenko, at a joint press conference with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, expressed gratitude to the United States for opposing Russia’s plans to build the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which will further reduce the importance of transit through Ukraine and deprive Kiev of the opportunity to blackmail Moscow.
According to Poroshenko, he thanks the Americans for their “very important” cooperation in the energy sector in terms of preventing the construction of Nord Stream 2.

“I am very grateful to our American partners for their absolutely clear, effective and consistent position in preventing the implementation of this deeply politicized project,” he said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Poroshenko also made it clear that in Ukraine the Americans will enter several energy sectors - these are already announced supplies of coal, a plant for nuclear waste, supply of fuel to nuclear power plants, etc.
True, no specific agreements were concluded in Kyiv today.
“We expect visits in August-September by the US Secretary of Defense and the US Secretary of Energy, and other visits by high-ranking representatives of the American government,” Poroshenko said.
