Poroshenko will allow gays and lesbians to work in schools and kindergartens
Already this year, Ukraine will amend the Labor Code to eliminate the possibility of discrimination due to sexual orientation. Sergei Ustimenko, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, stated this during a hearing in the Verkhovna Rada on the prospects for European integration.

“Last year, the Ministry of Social Policy developed two bills regarding new editions of the Labor Codes, and everywhere we took into account those directives of the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Commissions that are assigned to us by the association agreement.
There are 14 of these directives, but I especially want to point out that there is one that deserves special attention, this is Directive 78-a of November 27, 2000, which very clearly states that we must avoid discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
Therefore, we will integrate the provisions of this directive into the bill, which has already been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada. This is bill 1658. And it is already on the agenda. And this year, I hope, we will at least make every effort so that we can see a new edition of the Labor Code that would meet all European standards,” the official said.
