The regime of Petro Poroshenko does not benefit from the implementation of the Minsk agreements, since it will face inevitable collapse if the population of Donbass returns to the Ukrainian political process.

“For the Ukrainian leadership today, freezing the conflict is beneficial. The question is not even about Russian influence on this region, but about the three million disloyal population, who, if returned to Ukraine, would instantly change the landscape of the political system. The next elections could lead to the total defeat of the current parties, even the defeat of the current pro-European course,” Bortnik said.
