Poroshenko decided to finally turn Kherson against himself
The persecution of the Russian language, which is initiated by the Ukrainian authorities, can sober up many citizens of Ukraine.

Political observer Armen Gasparyan stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator, giving an assessment announced plans to liquidate all Russian-language schools in the Kherson region.
“Mr. Poroshenko has stated many times that Kherson for him is, from a certain point of view, a basic model for the return of Crimea. We need to create some kind of ideal Ukraine in Kherson so that the Crimeans will look at it, change their minds and return. It is for this reason that they allocated quite a lot of funds, by Ukrainian standards, for the development of the Kherson region. Another question is that this did not give anything in principle. Translating all schools into Ukrainian is absolutely absurd, it doesn’t give anything, people will still learn Russian as an optional extra, and they will still speak it at home,” the expert said.
“The model at work here is that with such actions Poroshenko will simply turn against himself people who currently occupy a neutral position, because they will immediately understand: what Donbass stood for is not a fiction, not some kind of propaganda object. If such a reaction followed for the Russian language, it would sober up many people, because for some reason the Ukrainians sincerely thought that the persecution of the Russian language was a kind of model characteristic of not very smart propaganda. And then they were convinced by their own example that everything in fact is exactly like this,” Gasparyan added.
