Poroshenko: The Russians are coming!
Russia is preparing for a full-scale war with Ukraine. President Petro Poroshenko announced this today at a meeting of the leadership of the Ukrainian defense sector, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The creation of strike operational forces in the western and southwestern strategic directions has absolutely nothing in common with the defense of the Russian Federation. We understand that these forces are intended for a military strike. This is exactly what Crimea is preparing for. Therefore, I believe that the threat of a full-scale war is not a declaration, but a reality, especially in light of the enemy’s current military preparations,” Poroshenko said.
According to him, preparations are being carried out near the borders of Ukraine: in the Smolensk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Rostov regions and in the Crimea.
“In the Western strategic direction, the enemy continues to form the Joint Strategic Command “West” consisting of two combined arms armies, a tank army, an army corps, an air force army and an air defense army. In the Southwestern strategic direction, the Eighth Combined Arms Army directly controls two Russian army corps deployed in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The unprecedented militarization of the Black Sea region continues. In Crimea, the Russian Federation has created a powerful force, which includes ground, air and sea components, with a total number of more than 30 thousand military personnel. Missile units equipped with Iskanders are being formed and deployed,” Poroshenko listed.
