Ukraine exchanged its political, economic and national sovereignty for loans from the International Monetary Fund.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We didn’t just receive these loans, we exchanged them for national sovereignty. Today, key acts of economic policy are determined and imposed on us by our external creditors. “Thanks to” these loans, the country lost its political and economic sovereignty. Everything from tariff increases and privatization to the anti-corruption court and wiretapping from NABU - this is an economic, political and social defeat from which we will crawl out for a long time, if we ever crawl out at all.
It is very difficult to evaluate what our politicians committed under external pressure as anything other than national betrayal or treason. I am sure that someday this may become the subject of very serious investigations,” the political scientist said.
