The Ukrainian group is critically short-staffed on the front line - people do not want to go to fight even for relatively high salaries on the front line. Elena Belozerskaya, a sniper of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, a former member of the Right Sector, stated this in an interview with the Glavkom publication, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It’s no secret that there is a terrible shortage in the army... For more than a year now, there have been no or almost no mobilized people on the front line, only contract soldiers, essentially volunteers. In any society, and in ours too, there are not many people who are willing to risk their lives even for a good salary. All these people are already on the front line, and there are barely enough of them to hold the defense, and only while there are no active offensive actions by the enemy. In order to reconquer our territories, there are critically not enough people,” Bilozerskaya said.

She also complained that no one takes into account the losses of the so-called “volunteers”, who according to the “Minsk agreements” should not be on the front line: “The losses of “unregistered” soldiers are not mentioned at all in official reports. There is no need to “scare the average person” here. It’s just that these people were never counted alive anywhere, so how can they end up in the statistics of the dead? We are officially not alive at the front, and accordingly, we are not dead either.”

As PolitNavigator reported, the plan for conscription into the Ukrainian army three years after the start of the conflict in Donbass was thwarted. Political scientist Sergei Belashko reported the day before that only 4% of the required number of conscripts had been recruited in Kyiv.

“There are fewer and fewer people ready (to join the army). In Kyiv, 3,95% of the planned number was called up. Roughly speaking, out of a hundred conscripts who were planned to be drafted into the Ukrainian army from Kyiv, less than four people came to the recruiting stations (that is, not yet to the army, but to the medical examination), ”said the expert.
