Slavyansk, July 08 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko visited Slavyansk, which was abandoned by the militia on July 5.

As reported on the DonOGA website, Poroshenko met with local residents.
“The head of state talked to people and assured them that the authorities are doing everything possible to quickly restore normal life in the city. Also, during a working trip to Slavyansk, the President of Ukraine awarded the military personnel who distinguished themselves during the anti-terrorist operation in the Donetsk region,” the message says.
There is no information about this visit on the official website of the head of state yet.
As Navigator reported, earlier the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov stated that the city would be safe only in a couple of days.
