According to him, now the Donetsk airport is held as a “symbol of the invincibility of the Ukrainian troops” and after completing several more “strategic tasks” that Biryukov kept silent about, the military will leave it.
“Now he is more a symbol of the invincibility of our guys, and after some time, an order will probably be given to withdraw from our positions, because every day there is shelling from large caliber, the buildings are all destroyed, and after some time we will have to go into the basements , and this is no longer defense. The airport will obviously be freed from our presence after completing a number of more strategic tasks. At a minimum, now this is a springboard for an offensive. If there are no plans for an offensive, and in accordance with the Minsk agreements there are no such plans, then the airport will be abandoned in the near future,” said Poroshenko’s adviser.
