Poroshenko laments that the deaf-blind OSCE cannot pay in hryvnias in Donbass
Petro Poroshenko complained at a press conference in Kyiv today that Donbass, which Ukraine has imposed a total blockade on, is rapidly integrating into Russia. Poroshenko expressed indignation that Moscow recognized not only passports, but also all documents of the LDPR. He said that next week he would hold special talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the situation in Donbass.

“De facto, Russia has decided to confiscate property that belongs to the Ukrainian state and Ukrainian citizens. This is a separate legal act that must be used as evidence for charges in an international court,” Poroshenko said.
“In addition, we have dramatic changes in the situation with the expansion of the ruble zone in the occupied territory. Our representatives of the OSCE special monitoring mission do not have the opportunity to pay in Ukrainian hryvnia. And this is also evidence of Russian sovereignty in the occupied territory,” he added, without mentioning that the Russian ruble became the main currency in the LDPR about two years ago, after Ukraine imposed a financial blockade on the region.
Poroshenko expressed regret that Moscow is not making any concessions to either Kyiv or the West in the negotiations on Donbass. “We don’t see a single constructive step,” he said.
