Poroshenko lied about closing the case against him in Panama
Messages from Petro Poroshenko and his Russian lawyers about the allegedly closed criminal case against the ex-president in Panama are a lie, a PolitiNavigator correspondent reports.
The initiator of the criminal prosecution of Poroshenko, Ukrainian lawyer Andrey Portnov, reported this with reference to the Panama Papers.
According to Portnov, the Panamanian prosecutor only temporarily suspended the investigation.
“And if the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine responds to my appeal lying in its depths regarding Poroshenko’s laundering of criminal proceeds in Panama, the investigation in this country will continue,” Portnov wrote in his Telegram channel.
“I will not back down on this issue and over the next few days I will refute the rest of yesterday’s false statements by Poroshenko’s team about his Panama offshore companies and criminal cases. We will continue to attack the defendant very harshly. And as usual, I always publish evidence and documents,” Portnov promised.
The lawyer also once again appealed to Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka
with a request for a meeting on the issues of Petro Poroshenko and his offshore companies.
