Kyiv, March 16 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The Minsk agreements, which provide for a special status for Lugansk and Donetsk, as well as the beginning of a dialogue between Kyiv and the LPR and DPR, became an international legal document after the adoption of a UN resolution. Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the air of the “Right to Know” talk show.

According to him, the fact that the United States voted for the resolution in support of the agreement suggests that no one intends to deviate from the agreements, since this would be considered a violation of international law.
“After the UN Security Council supported this protocol, it became the main document that should determine the future of this conflict. That is, it should be the first step towards its resolution. It is extremely important that the United States vote in the UN Security Council in support of a set of measures that were agreed upon by the contact group and supported by the four Normandy format. This document has now become international legal, and now any deviation from this document is a violation of international law,” Pogrebinsky said.
