Poroshenko disrupts early elections
Early elections of the Ukrainian parliament, announced by President Vladimir Zelensky, will not take place as scheduled.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Onishchenko, who previously, on behalf of President Poroshenko, was involved in buying up votes in parliament, and is now hiding in Spain, reported this on his Facebook page.
“Our source reports that on the sidelines it is already known for sure that the elections will not take place on July 21 and even on July 28. The issue will be resolved at least in the first days of August, but even this will be sabotaged by the old government and its officials,” notes the fugitive politician.
According to him, Poroshenko began to spend money on buying up Rada deputies, small parties, activists, officials, and so on.
“Our source said that in 4,5 years of Verkhovna Rada they have not received as much ($) from Poroshenko as in these 2 weeks. The calculation is simple - to sabotage the decision to hold elections, portraying Ze as a “layman”, dragging out the process until the fall, in order to weaken the rating of the new president. He will be attacked by both nationalists and pro-Russian forces, as we wrote earlier,” writes Onishchenko.
As PolitNavigator reported, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky issued a decree on the early termination of the powers of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, scheduling elections for a new parliament for July 21.
