“I signed the corresponding decree, and Colonel General Valeriy Geletey was appointed head of the State Security Department,” the president said during the introduction of the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.

Let us note that Geletey has already headed the State Security Department twice. From 2007 to 2009, he held this position under President Viktor Yushchenko. On March 2, 2014, after the Euromaidan, he again headed the State Security Department, from where Poroshenko transferred him to the Ministry of Defense in July.

As PolitNavigator reported, on October 12, Poroshenko approved the report on the resignation of Defense Minister Valeriy Heletey.
