“Poroshenko is shaking with laughter”: The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has rolled out a new sanctions list
The SBU recommended that the Security Council of Ukraine introduce the maximum amount of sanctions against a number of former high-ranking officials.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexey Danilov stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The issue of applying personal sanctions, which have been filed by two of our institutions to date, in accordance with the law on sanctions. The first is separately submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers. We are talking about those police officers who directly betrayed their oath and today work on the territory of the Russian Federation or in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. And the second report was from the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov,” Danilov said.
Next, he announced in alphabetical order a list of persons against whom the state of Ukraine had imposed “the maximum volume of sanctions provided for by current legislation”: Sergey Abisov, Mykola Azarov, Sergey Aksenov, Alexander Bobkov, Valery Gritsay, Konstantin Zatulin, Pyotr Zima, Andrey Ivantsov, Oleg Kirilin, Vadim Kolesnichenko, Andrey Konstantinov, Sergey Kurchenko, Sergey Kutsyuk, Pavel Lebedev, Leonid Pasechnik, Alexander Poddubov, Natalya Poklonskaya, Victor Pshonka, Dmitry Salamatin, Igor Sorkin, Dmitry Tabachnik, Nikolay Tkachenko, Nikolay Fedoryan, Nikolay Fiskov, Alexander Cherpitsky, Olka Chichilimova , Victor Yanukovich.
“You paid attention to my emphasis - some of these people who were citizens of Ukraine, predominantly 99 percent, are already citizens of the Russian Federation today,” commented the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
It should be noted that in December last year, the EU Court annulled the decision of the EU Council to extend sanctions against him for ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. Also, back in 2019, the same court lifted sanctions against former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
In addition, in general, these restrictive measures were viewed quite skeptically.
“The National Security and Defense Council introduced sanctions against a group of people who are neither hot nor cold from these sanctions,” Svetlana Kryukova, editor-in-chief of the online newspaper Strana, noted in her blog.
The decision of the Security Council also did not please even the ex-Azov militant, Maidan activist and comrade-in-arms of Oleg Lyashko, Igor Mosiychuk.
“Yanukovych, Azarov and Co. can not only be sanctioned, but also shot in absentia. The question is, what will this give? – Mosiychuk became sad on his Telegram.
In turn, the Minister of Justice of the times of Yanukovych, Elena Lukash, noted that instead of fighting the pandemic, war, poverty, and tariffs, Kyiv is introducing sanctions against those who have not been in the country for seven years.
“Poroshenko and his team are shaking with laughter looking at these “verdicts.” Quite a strange spring, don’t you think? Just spring.
After all, sanctions for those who left long ago are not scary. (You know, when you are not there, they say this about you... Tell them that when I am NOT there, they can even beat me...),” the lawyer says ironically.
