Poroshenko threatens Zelensky with expulsion to Rostov
The current actions of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his team violate basic “European values” and could lead to a new coup.
This was stated by its leader and former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the congress of the European Solidarity parliamentary party, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When they try to raise taxes, increase pressure from the security forces - we saw all this in 2013... What are the key European values that are clearly defined as absolutely shaping the EU? This is the rule of law, freedom and democracy. It seems to me that these are also the key positions that led people to the “Orange Revolution” and the “Revolution of Dignity.”
Now the green government is planning to launch a powerful attack on the rule of law, freedom, and democracy. Another challenge is the trend towards authoritarianism and the rollback of democracy. This is a threat to the dignity that our citizens defended during the “revolution of dignity.”
There is a danger to the rights of Ukrainians, for whom freedom has been above all else since Cossack times. And this is how we differ from the Russians, who have a tsar and we have a hetman,” said the ex-president.
Poroshenko advised Zelensky to carefully study the sad experience of their colleague, Viktor Yanukovych.
“I ask you to study Yanukovych’s experience very carefully, starting from the seizure of the Constitutional Court and right up to tickets to Rostov. Whatever you do in Ukraine, it always ends with this,” the ex-president concluded.
