Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that Kyiv will do anything to prevent new elections from being held in the DPR and LPR. The Ukrainian president made such a speech before leaving for the UN General Assembly in New York.

Poroshenko promised to introduce new sanctions against Russia if it supports local elections in Donbass.

The President of Ukraine also spoke about the purposes of his trip to the UN General Assembly. He stated that he intends to achieve the creation of an international coalition that will stand in solidarity with Ukraine and help it.

Poroshenko added that Ukraine will not give up trying to join NATO and will continue to work in this direction. After all, the doors of the North Atlantic Alliance, according to Poroshenko, are open to Ukraine
